Dr Anupam Takalkar and Dr Yashwant Gade elected to key state and national roles

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar based dermatologist Dr Anupam Takalkar has been elected as the Joint Secretary of the Indian Medical Association, Maharashtra State, for the 2025 to 2026 term. The city’s medical community has welcomed the announcement and described it as a proud moment for local healthcare professionals.
The declaration was made during the state council installation ceremony held in Solapur. Solapur Municipal Commissioner Dr Sachin Ombase attended as the chief guest. Former JJ Hospital Dean Dr Sudhir Nandkar, IMA National Vice President Dr Housie Kapadia, National Joint Secretary Dr Hemant Lunge, former state president Dr Santosh Kadam, former state secretary Dr Anil Awhad and president elect Dr Manjusha Giri were present and congratulated the newly elected team. The hall responded with applause as Dr Anupam Takalkar’s name was announced.
Dr Anupam Takalkar has also been elected as a member of the Central Working Committee of IMA HQ. He said that the new responsibilities bring motivation and trust. He added that he will focus on decisions that help members and will work to make association activities more efficient. He thanked colleagues and supporters for their encouragement.
In the same election, city based Dr Yashwant Gade secured positions as an Election Commission member and as a Central Working Committee member. He said that he will work with honesty and fairness. Dr Rajendra Gandhi from the city has also been elected as a Central Working Committee member.
